Type of Advice Provided

Personal Advice
Personal advice is one-on-one financial guidance tailored to your specific needs, goals, and circumstances. A qualified adviser will recommend suitable types and levels of cover, explain why they fit your situation, and help put the right protection in place. This often includes assisting with applications, liaising with insurers, and guiding you through any underwriting or medical requirements. Personal advice must always be in your best interests – it’s a legal obligation.

A little more background

Trish Gregory, a Certified Financial Planner and life insurance specialist based in Canberra, works with Hayes & Co Insurance Services, an award‑winning advice practice. After earlier work as a holistic financial planner, she chose to dedicate her career fully to life insurance advice and claims support – a decision born from personal experience and a belief in the power of protection to give people peace of mind in times of challenge.

With close to a decade in advice and leadership roles, Trish has guided clients aged from 18 to 90 – helping families, younger professionals, carers and sole traders access tailored cover such as Trauma, Income Protection, TPD and Life Insurance.

In 2025 she was named “Adviser of the Year – Risk”, reflecting her deep industry experience and client-centred reputation. Her qualifications include a Master of Financial Planning and CFP® certification. This gives her the technical and real-life experience to handle complex underwriting scenarios with confidence.

Clients value Trish for her warm, down‑to‑earth approach and ability to remove jargon from insurance conversations. She listens deeply, explains policies in accessible terms and prioritises real outcomes – especially during claims or major life events. Whether someone is navigating health changes, family transitions or self-employed income shifts, Trish helps clients feel understood and supported throughout.

Trish is also a respected advocate and mentor within the advice community. She regularly speaks at industry events on topics such as access to protection for women, young adults and carers, and fosters growth in the profession as Chapter Chair of the FAAA Inspire committee. Through mentoring, volunteering and public dialogue, she helps shape a more diverse, values-driven and inclusive future for life insurance advice.
